CS-215 AI Literacy
After Topic 3 · One 80-minute class

Policy Lab DayWho did the learning?

Start with your own judgment, stress-test a university AI policy with new facts and classmates, use a bounded critic, then carry verified evidence into the existing Topic 3 policy memo.

Start here

Enter through the CS-215 course mode.

This route removes the standalone report requirement, keeps your work in a separate browser-storage space, and returns you to this page when the lab is complete.

Open the live policy lab

Wait for the instructor before creating the individual baseline. The first nine minutes must be your own work without generative AI.

Launch CS-215 policy lab
Class flow

One clock, nine visible stages.

The full 80-minute schedule includes launch, individual and group reasoning, a bounded critic, defense, and a final save-and-return close.

Launch + boundary

Open course mode, confirm local saving, sit with your table (it is your group), and read the privacy rule.

Primer

Recover the four review lenses and inspect the fictional polished-report case.

Individual baseline

Answer Q1–Q5 without AI, allocate accountability, and lock the snapshot.

Group setup

Assign roles, share initial disagreements, and write one provisional policy.

Three variations

Stress-test access, privacy, and accountability. Rotate the drafter and challenger as directed.

Bounded critic

Use an instructor-approved AI critic only if available; otherwise use the built-in critique card. Evaluate rather than copy.

Defense

Close AI, send one counterexample to the next table number (the highest number sends to Table 1), then revise or defend the four-clause policy. Every member types the final four clauses into their own Final group policy fields.

Individual return

Answer “What changed from your baseline, and why?” and “What remains uncertain?”, then note which review ideas support the policy.

Save + return

Export memo evidence, upload it to the LMS lab assignment, and download a backup. Verify the files, then return to the policy memo.

Group roles

Four jobs keep the discussion moving.

Groups of three combine evidence keeper and spokesperson. Rotate the drafter after access and the challenger after privacy.

Policy drafter

Writes the group's one- or two-sentence output.

Ethics challenger

States the strongest reasonable objection.

Evidence keeper

Records reasons and revisions, then exports the group packet.

Spokesperson

Defends the policy after the AI window closes.

No Claude account or network?

Open the built-in critique card in the AI critic stage. It targets the same learning goal and does not reduce credit or block completion.

Finish well

Leave with your evidence uploaded.

Your files are working notes. Inspect them before leaving the browser and carry only accurate, necessary reasoning into the memo. Your upload counts when it shows a locked baseline (Part A), your table’s final policy (Part D) and your reflection (Part E: “What changed from your baseline, and why?” and “What remains uncertain?”). Parts B and C may read “Not completed” unless you imported your table’s packet; that is fine. On an iPhone the exported file is in Files › Downloads; on Android, in Downloads. If the export fails, copy the Memo notes preview and paste it into the assignment’s text box instead.

Download backup

Preserves the full local session so it can be restored in CS-215 mode.

Export memo evidence

Creates an editable text record without student identity fields. Upload this file to the LMS lab assignment.

Write independently

Follow the memo's authorship boundary; the critic must not write submitted prose.

Never submit

Private chat history, credentials, or real student data.
