CS-215 certification pathway · 7% of your course grade

CCAR-F Certificate & Preparation Guide

Complete the course preparation, scheduled exam attempt or approved equivalent, and reflection. Use this guide to understand your course credit, registration support, and the separate external credential.

How the pathway earns 7% of your course grade.

This is a required CS-215 course component. Each percentage below is a share of your total course grade. Passing or failing the external exam does not raise or lower these course points.

Quizzes together account for 23% of the final course grade. eCampus will announce each quiz’s coverage, date, time limit, and weight before administration. The Day 1 diagnostic pre-test is ungraded. See the syllabus for the full grading breakdown.

2% · Preparation

Complete the assigned milestones.

Finish the approved preparation and submit the evidence requested in eCampus. The independent preparation board supports study; its local progress and practice scores do not automatically become course grades.

3% · Attempt or equivalent

Make the scheduled attempt.

Take the scheduled official exam and submit the limited confirmation requested in eCampus. An instructor-approved equivalent assessment can earn the same 3% when a qualifying barrier prevents the standard exam route.

2% · Reflection

Connect the experience to the course.

Write a short reflection connecting your preparation and assessment experience to course learning. Follow the prompt and submission requirements in eCampus.

Registration and fee support

As stated in the CS-215 syllabus, students use their Monmouth University email address to register. The Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering covers the required exam fee, and the department secretary assists with registration and payment logistics. Follow the instructor's schedule; eCampus identifies the assigned credential, milestones, approved evidence, and deadlines.

Access barriers and approved equivalents

Contact the instructor promptly if a verified provider, registration, or payment failure outside your control prevents the scheduled attempt. The approved equivalent carries the same 3%. For documented accessibility, technical, religious, scheduling, or institutional registration barriers, the instructor will coordinate an equivalent assessment of the same learning outcomes when warranted. Do not replace the assigned attempt with self-selected practice.

Follow the official provider's exam rules and use only aids those rules explicitly allow. For course evidence, submit only what eCampus requests; do not submit identification, payment details, credentials, proctoring recordings, private exam content, or copied official questions.

Eligibility and privacy checkpoint

Verify the provider's current eligibility rules, identity requirements, and proctoring terms before registering, and follow the course registration instructions above. Pearson testing may require personal information and identity verification; online proctoring records the candidate and testing environment. If a documented barrier prevents the standard exam route, contact the instructor about an approved equivalent. The independent preparation board remains available for study but does not by itself replace the assigned assessment.

How foundational AI literacy connects to CCAR-F preparation.

Helpful foundations

  • Responsible AI use, disclosure, privacy, and evidence checks
  • Human review, prompting, revision, and evaluation
  • Small static web projects, testing, security review, and reflection
  • Basic agents, tools, skills, permissions, and MCP concepts

Additional CCAR-F preparation usually needed

  • Hands-on Claude API and Agent SDK implementation
  • MCP tool and resource-interface design
  • Multi-agent orchestration and production tradeoffs
  • CI/CD workflows, context management, escalation, and reliability

Anthropic positions the ideal CCAR-F candidate as a solution architect with typically six or more months of practical experience across Claude APIs, Agent SDK, Claude Code, and MCP. Using the preparation guide does not guarantee exam readiness or passing.
